Pastor Stephens prayer of the day

March 26, 2024

Today’s Prayer: PRAYER IS A HABIT, IT IS OUR BUSINESS AND THE CENTRAL FOCUS OF LIFE. Men and women of prayer, give themselves to prayer. Prayer is not paint and polish, it is the inner substance of a believer in Jesus Christ. ‘Be always in prayer…men ought always to pray…’ That is the language of a Christian who is wholly given to prayer and communion with God. Prayer is as necessary for our spiritual life as oxygen, food and water is for your physical life. Your body is structured to crave what it needs for survival and health. So then why do you not crave with a deep longing to meet with God in prayer every day? Your spiritual survival and health depends on it. That’s the very reason people drift, fall prey to the flesh and carnality and don’t manage the challenges of life very well. We have a spiritual life and the spiritual man in all of us must be fed and nurtured. [Psalms 17:6] “I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.” This is the plea of someone how has buried himself in his prayer life, it is all consuming and obsessive. Far too many people don’t consider their prayer life as such. [Psalms 63:1-2]

“O God, You are my God; with DEEPEST LONGING I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh LONGS AND SIGHS for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have GAZED UPON YOU in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.” That is precisely how we should be thinking about and talking in our prayer life. We can never be too busy to pray any more than we could be to busy to breath, drink or eat…YOU HAVE TO MAKE TIME!…or you won’t survive or if you don’t breath, eat and drink enough you certainly won’t be healthy. Take time today to think about the quality of your prayer life; IS IT SUFFICIENT TO KEEP YOU IN A HEALTHY SPIRITUAL STATE? Prayer is the confession of our heart toward’s God. We state our love; [Psalms 18:1] ‘I will love You, O LORD, my strength.” We state by decree who He is to us; [Psalms 18:2-3] “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.” When prayer is a habit, our business and central focus, you don’t have to worry or stress about what to pray about, it will come pouring our of your soul, reach the heavens and be heard by God!
