Today’s Prayer: REAL PRAYER AT ITS HIGHEST AND BEST REVEALS A SOUL ATHIRST FOR GOD! Nothing better can be said about the substance of prayer, the achievement of prayer…we are satisfying a deep and longing thirst, and we are plunging into an arena where the soul of man meets God. A Believer should have an insatiable thirst for God. We satisfy our thirst and hunger for God in prayer…and then, it isn’t long before we thirst again and our soul must be satisfied with Him and Him alone. [Psalms 42:1-2] AMP “As the deer pants (longingly) for the water brooks, So pants (longingly) my soul for You, O God. My soul (my life, my inner self) thirsts for God, for the living God. When will I come and see the face of God”? Real prayer comes from the heart and lips of those whose affections are set on things above. [Colossians 3:2] “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth”. Do you not yearn to reach a higher level in prayer than just asking God for things…or crying out in crisis? Consider for a moment what we are seeking to do when we pray. We are seeking to behold the glory of God by entering into His presence. Do we spend enough time thinking, pondering and marveling over God’s exceedingly great glory? There is nothing like it…the splendor of an earthly king cannot compare and pales in comparison to the glory of God. Then, after God’s glory…we meditate on the grace of God, His marvelous, incomprehensible grace. His grace knows no limits…it reaches beyond any sin, shortcoming fault or failure. If there is repentance there will always be grace to forgive. Daily in prayer we are reminded of and we experience that grace that is able to forgive, heal and deliver. When you’re hungry or thirsty you don’t have to force yourself to eat and drink. So too should it be with God in prayer…it should be the yearning of our soul. [Isaiah 26:9a]

“With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early…” Today you are satisfying your insatiable thirst and hunger for God in prayer!
